McBeamers NBA DFS 1.12

Well last night was a weird night for fantasy basketball.  The best value plays turned out to be Fred Vanvleet, Kostas Koufos, Montrezl Harrell, and Pascal Siakam. I chose David Bertans (40% ownership) thinking he would be lower owned that Dejounte Murray (15% ownership), which turned out to be a terrible decision. Luckily we have a 9-game slate tonight which should open up a lot more options.

Follow me on twitter @drillacape for updates. I’ll be answering questions all day, I should have new lineups out around 5:30pm CST.

One quick announcement: I’ve had several people tell me they enjoyed me putting out a free FanDuel lineup yesterday. I will try to start releasing 2 DK lineups and 1 FD lineup for everyone before lock, expect them around 5:30pm CST today (30 minutes before lock)

Last nights lineup suggestions:

$5 H2H -> $10 win

Lineup 1: (219.50) Delon Wright > Demar Derozan > Bogdan Bogdonavich > Blake Griffin > Jonas Valanciunis > Tyrone Wallace > Lamarcus Aldridge > David Bertans

$12 tournament -> LOSS

Lineup 2: (199.75) Jawun Evans > Delon Wright > Demar Derozan > Blake Griffin > Jonas Valanciunis > Tyrone Wallace > Lamarcus Aldridge > David Bertans

David Bertans was a huge bust and news about the Clippers came 30 minutes after lock. Blake Griffin was the highest scoring PF on the night at 3% ownership, he was a fantastic play. I really thought Teodosic would sit out which is why I played Evans and Wallace.

PLAYER NAME > FD SALARY > DK SALARY > 5X VALUE > CASH/GPP/PLAY

(PLAY = both cash and tournament option)

Cleveland Cavaliers (112) @ Indiana Pacers (110)

-Isaiah Thomas rest, Myles Turner Q

Fade the entire Cavs team, all their players are overpriced and have played terrible in back-to-back games. Kevin Love has a good matchup, but only 13 real points in the last 2 games combined. The only person you should even consider is Lebron James.

•Lebron James > 11500 > 58 > GPP

-went for 75 two nights ago, the only matchup proof player on the slate tonight, he is always an option whenever he’s on the slate.

•Victor Oladipo > 9500 > 9000 > 45 > PLAY

-cavs have given up 133 and 127 points in their last 2 games

-20 shots last game, 0-for-6 from 3pt range, huge potential against a weak cavs D

-stat machine: 11 free throws last game, 3 steals, will see extra rebounds if Turner sits out, 70-point ceiling

•Domantas Sabonis > 7100 > 6400 > 32 > GPP

-only in play if Myles Turner is out, I don’t love his salary at 6400 he has a great matchup against the Cavs

-I have him projected at 36 minutes, I imagine he will have a great night rebounding, likely to reach a double-double.

Utah Jazz (101) @ Charlotte Hornets (106)

Fade the entire team

Kemba Walker > 8500 > 7600 > 38 > PLAY

-coming off a 60-point game vs. DAL, has 20+ shot attempts in several games this season

-above 38 points on DK his last 5 games

-everyone else on the Hornets has a tough matchup (Jazz team D: #2 vs. SG and SF, #1 vs. PF/C)

Orlando Magic (104) @ Washington Wizards (114)

Fade the entire team

-Evan Fournier is the only guy I would consider on the Magic. They only have 12 wins on the season, Aaron Gordon has been unreliable since his comeback. He always has a 60-point ceiling, and I’ve seen flashes of it, but the Magic don’t work well enough as a team yet to trust anybody.

•John Wall > 10300 > 9400 > 47 > PLAY

-season high 35-points in his last game, I’m thinking about sticking with the hot hand

-114 implied total, good matchup for him and the Wizards play well at home

-been +47 his last 5 games, 52-point game vs. Magic last year

•Kelly Oubre Jr. > 4100 > 4400 > 22 > GPP

-only because I could see this getting out of hand. I believe he’s the best scorer on the second unit and would be the main beneficiary of a blowout.

Brooklyn Nets (104) @ Atlanta Hawks (107)

-Demarre Carroll Q

•Spencer Dinwiddie > 6700 > 6600 > 33 > GPP

-last 4 games on DK: 43, 26, 54, 9*

-the 9-point game was a blowout loss at DET, he only saw 26 min compared to his usual 36

-great matchup vs. a Hawks team struggling on defense

-nice boost if Carroll sits out, Levert is running with the second unit, Carroll takes 10 shots a game so you have to think some of them will go to Dinwiddie

-could be low owned tonight

•Dennis Schroder > 7200 > 36 > PLAY

-Nets ranks 30th as a team vs. PG

-has averaged a 35% usage rate over the last 4 games

-double-double vs. DEN, above 36 on DK 6 out of last 9 games

-Ilysaova, Bazemore, and Prince are all stealing value from each other. I’m comfortable fading all of them and having Dennis Schroder as my only Atlanta Hawk play tonight.

New York Knicks (98) @ Minnesota Timberwolves (108)

•Michael Beasley > 7300 > 5900 > 29 > PLAY

-ridiculously underpriced on DK based of last 6 games: 47, 40. 43, 34, 26, 51

-Vegas thinks this has the potential to be a blowout, +-10 spread, Beasley runs with the 2nd unit and has played extremely well lately. I think he might have earner himself some extra minutes even if this game stays close.

•Enes Kanter > 5300 > 5800 > 29 > GPP

-played very well in his last 3 games

-18 rebounds two games ago

-KAT not the greatest rebounder, could be in for another big night

-KAT also not great on defense, Kanter could go for a double-double tonight and be the leading scorer. Minnesota is very solid on defense, it will be interesting to see how this game plays out.

•Andrew Wiggins > 6200 > 6100 > 31 > PLAY

-one of my favorite plays on the Twolves because I feel like the rest of the players are extremely overpriced

-has the potential to stuff the stat sheet with blocks, assists, rebounds, and may even get a boost scoring with Teague passing him the ball

-Knick rank 25th in team D vs. SF

-was above 30% usage rate in his last 2 games, dropped 10% with Teague returning, will be interesting to see where he finishes tonight

Golden State Warriors (115) @ Milwaukee Bucks (109)

•Steph Curry > 10200 > 10400 > PLAY

-check injury news tonight, he’s listed as day-to-day

•Draymond Green > 7800 both sites > 39 > PLAY

-last 5 games on DK: 25, 54, 36, 48, 45

-steph and klay questionable

-0-for-6 from three pt range last game, has the potential to knock down 5

•Khris Middleton > 7000 > 6800 > 34 > PLAY

-Bledsoe and Giannis have really been struggling lately, Giannis seems too pricy for me tonight at 10500 on DK.

-watch for news about Klay, he’s a great defender but he’s been having issues with his ankle. Middleton gets a huge boost if he sits out or is on a minutes restriction

Malcolm Brogdon > 5600 > 5500 > 27 > GPP

-made the starting lineup last game vs. ORL and went for 40 on DK

-became a huge fan for him after the dunk of Westbrook and stare down after

-will be interesting to see if he’s in the starting lineup or has earned any more minutes, I have him projected at 34 so I think he could easily hit value at 27.

Portland TrailBlazers (0)@ New Orleans Pelicans (0)

Jusuf Nurkic > 6800 > 6400 > 32 > PLAY

-played extremely well lately, gets a boost with Dame back

-only played 20 min last game, rest?

-projecting him at 31 min and 40 DK points tonight, possible lock

Memphis Grizzlies (100) @ Denver Nuggets (113):

Marc Gasol > 8400 > 7500 > 38 > PLAY

-Tyreke Evans has played out of his mind this season, but I feel like the could struggle in this matchup

-I have Gasol projected at 40 points for DK, he has a favorable matchup vs. the Grizzlies

Jamal Murray > 6800 > 5800 > 29 > PLAY

-probably one of my favorite plays on the slate tonight

-extremely hot lately, above 30 points od DK 7 out of his last 10 games

-playing great defense lately and has been averaging 7 3-point attempts per game over the last 10 games

Houston Rockets (117) @ Phoenix Suns (110):

-I love this game, highest implied total on the night, good game to stack

Clint Capela > 7600 > 7100 > 36 > PLAY

-averaging 10 rebounds/game over the last 4 games

-has played well with Harden out, waiting for him to have a monster game

Devin Booker > 7800 > 8200 > 41 > PLAY

-I love Devin Booker tonight, fantastic matchup in a game with a high implied total

-shows flashes of being ones of the best pure scorers in the league, Rockets rank 24th in SG def

-60-point upside, I will probably have him locked in tonight

TJ Warren > 7500 > 6200 > 31 > PLAY

-Rockets are bad around the rim, TJ Warren always finishes at the rim

-last 5 games: 31, 36, 42, 34, 42

-averages 15-20 shot attempts a game

Follow me on twitter @drillacape for updates. I’ll be answering questions all day, I should have 2 new lineups out around 5:30pm CST. Hoping for some news before lock tonight!
